Live hints while you connect your logs
While the Test connection step runs, hints now appear on their own every few seconds, each naming what Salience observed for your site and the one thing to do next.
Hints now appear on their own while the Test connection step runs. About every 12 seconds the step checks Salience's own records for your site and, when there is something to act on, shows one hint: what was observed, what that does and does not show, and the one thing to do next. You no longer have to open the troubleshooter to see it.
Hints cover a CloudFront field list that cannot be read, requests arriving for a different hostname, a refused or unreachable test request, no data after the test window (with the CloudFront buffering caveat), a site with no active ingestion key, and data arriving now. New: for a Cloudflare Worker, CloudFront Firehose or Logpush feed that sends to our HTTP ingest endpoint, a hint now says when the feed reached us with a valid key but the batch itself could not be read, so a wrong format is no longer a silent "no data".
The hints come from Salience's own server-side records, never from your Cloudflare or AWS account, and they never say your key is wrong because no logs arrived: Salience records nothing about a refused key. They pause while the tab is in the background, stop after ten minutes unless you press Keep watching, and stop the moment data is confirmed. Help me fix this is still there for a guided conversation.
