Salience is operated by Salience Technologies Limited ("we", "our" or "us"). Salience was previously known as LogLens, and the product currently runs at loglens.ai and app.loglens.ai (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your information when you use the Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address
- Name (optional)
- Organisation name
- Password (stored securely hashed)
Website analytics data
When you connect your website, we collect server log data including:
- IP addresses of visitors to your website
- URLs and pages accessed
- HTTP request methods and status codes
- User agent strings (browser and device information)
- Referrer URLs
- Request timestamps
- Response times and bytes transferred
- Geographic location data (country, city) derived from IP addresses
Google Search Console data
If you choose to connect your Google Search Console account, we access:
- Search Analytics data (impressions, clicks, average position by URL)
- URL Inspection data (index status, crawl information, canonical URLs)
- The list of verified properties in your Search Console account
Google Analytics data
If you choose to connect a Google Analytics 4 property, we request read-only access and retrieve:
- The list of GA4 properties your Google account can access, so you can choose which one to connect
- Aggregated report data for the connected property: sessions, active users, engagement, key events, revenue, landing pages, page views and traffic sources, by day
Google API Services User Data Policy
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google Search Console and Google Analytics data is used only to show you your own reports alongside your server-log data and the insights we derive from them. It is never sold, never used for advertising, never shared with other customers and never used to train general-purpose AI models.
How we use your information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide the Service: display analytics dashboards, generate reports and provide insights about your website traffic
- Bot detection: identify and classify bot traffic and verify legitimate search engine crawlers
- SEO analytics: correlate crawl data with Google Search Console data to provide index coverage insights
- Alerting: send notifications about traffic anomalies or issues you have configured
- Account management: authenticate users, manage teams and process invitations
- Service improvement: analyse usage patterns to improve our features and user experience
- Communication: send important service updates, security alerts and support messages
Data storage and security
Where we store data
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the EU West (London) region. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256).
Security measures
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted database connections and storage
- API keys stored as cryptographic hashes
- OAuth tokens encrypted and stored securely in AWS Secrets Manager
- Access controls and audit logging
- Regular security reviews and updates
Data retention
- Real-time request data: retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted
- Aggregated analytics: retained for 1 year
- Google Search Console data: cached for 7 to 14 days, refreshed daily
- Google Analytics data: aggregated daily report data is kept for your plan's retention window and refreshed nightly; deleted when you disconnect the property or delete the website
- Account data: retained until you delete your account
Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in the following circumstances:
- With your consent: when you explicitly authorise sharing
- Team members: with users you invite to your organisation or website
- Service providers: with trusted third parties who assist in operating the Service (for example AWS for infrastructure, or email delivery services for notifications)
- Legal requirements: when required by law, court order or governmental authority
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets
Third-party integrations
Google Search Console
When you connect Google Search Console, we request read-only access to your Search Console data. We use the official Google APIs and comply with Google's API Services User Data Policy. You can revoke this access at any time through:
- Settings, then Integrations, then Disconnect
- Your Google Account permissions page
Google Analytics
When you connect Google Analytics, we request read-only access to the GA4 property you choose (the analytics.readonly scope). We use the official Google Analytics Admin and Data APIs and comply with Google's API Services User Data Policy. We never write to your Google Analytics account. Disconnecting deletes the stored access token; you can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.
Log source integrations
We integrate with CDN and hosting providers (such as Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront and Vercel) to receive log data. These integrations are configured by you and can be disabled at any time by removing the API keys or log drain configurations.
Your rights and choices
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction: update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export: export your analytics data via our API
- Revoke integrations: disconnect third-party services at any time
- Opt out: unsubscribe from non-essential communications
You can delete your account yourself from Account settings, or an organisation you own from Organisation settings; we keep the data for a 14-day grace period so you can cancel, then delete the account, its workspaces and their log data, retaining only the invoicing and audit records we are legally required to keep.
Cookies and tracking
We use two kinds of cookies on salience.com and on the dashboard at logs.salience.com.
Necessary storage makes the Service work: the cookie_consent cookie that records your cookie choice (kept for 180 days), and on the dashboard your sign-in tokens and preferences, which are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies and are cleared when you sign out. None of this needs consent and none of it can be switched off.
Analytics cookies are optional. They are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner, by Google Analytics 4, Clicky and Microsoft Clarity, on both salience.com and logs.salience.com. Until you accept, none of these services load and none of their cookies are set.
Your choice is stored in a cookie set for .salience.com, so consent given or refused on either salience.com or logs.salience.com applies to both. You can change or withdraw it at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer of this site or in the dashboard. Withdrawing consent stops further collection and removes the first-party analytics cookies we control; cookies that these providers set on their own domains (for example clarity.ms and c.bing.com) cannot be removed by us and must be cleared in your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies. Cookie names containing <id> or <siteid> vary with the provider's account identifier.
Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
International data transfers
Our servers are located in the United Kingdom. If you access the Service from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and processed in the UK. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international data transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
