What does the check do?
It reads the public DNS records and response headers of the domain and matches them to the CDN or server signatures Salience recognises. Nothing is installed and nothing on your site changes.
Do I need a card to start?
No. The Free plan has no card. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial of the full plan, also with no card.
What if my platform is not listed?
Sites on a platform without a native connection can put Cloudflare's free plan in front of the domain, which takes about fifteen minutes and gives Salience a log source. Alternatively, leave your email on the check result and you will be told when your platform is supported.
Where is the data held, and who can see it?
Log data is stored in AWS eu-west-2 (London), encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). You are the controller and Salience the processor: the GDPR Art. 28 DPA applies to every account with nothing to sign. Logs are never sold, never used for advertising and never shared between customers.
How long until the first data arrives?
Connecting takes about ten minutes on Cloudflare, Vercel and Kinsta; Apache and Nginx need someone with root or sudo for about the same. Streaming connections fill the first reports within about fifteen minutes.
